Hello Hello!

Welcome back to On The Hunt, our little caffeine addicts 😊We are so happy you have come back to read another one of our posts, this is definitely one you don't want to miss!

Today, we are stepping into the role of food connoisseur, as we tell you the ideal food pairings to go with your favourite forms of caffeine. These combinations will not only taste scrumptious, but will give you that added boost of fuel and flavour to keep you going all day long.

Coffee + Espresso Pairings:

  1. Protein Pancakes!

Specifically, peanut butter banana pancakes. You seriously cannot start your day off with a more filling, protein-filled, and delicious breakfast. Not only will protein pancakes keep you full for longer, the peanut butter and banana flavours pair perfectly with the delicious, bitter hits of coffee. While it is a more time consuming meal to make, it is wellllll worth it.

  1. Bagels (a Classic)

Bagels are known as one of the best coffee pairings for a reason! The rich flavour contrast and texture balance make this the ideal way to start your morning. Both are filling and energizing, with the carbs from the bagel offering a slower-release energy source, while coffee provides an instant pick-me-up. You can also add variety to the meal by testing out different coffee flavours and bagel spreads!

  1. Egg Bites

Egg bites are not only a great source of protein, but they also balance perfectly with the rich, creamy texture of coffee. Like bagels, egg bites are a slower-releasing protein source, while coffee gives you that instant energy boost needed to start the day. Additionally, egg bites are small enough that you can bring them with you anywhere you go, allowing you to enjoy them with coffee in cafes, while studying, or even during class!

Tea Pairings:

The perfect tea pairing truly depends on the type of tea you’re drinking, but we have included three popular tea types below and the types of food we think go beautifully with each!

  1. Earl Grey - Baked goods, chocolate, dairy, eggs, spices

  2. Chai - Custard, ice cream, baked goods, rice, oatmeal, chocolate, bread

  3. Black Tea - Continental and english breakfasts, spicy foods, meats (beef, lamb, ham, chicken), honey, and fruit

Energy Drink Pairings:

  1. Yerba Mate and Veggie Snacks

When your energy reserves run low at work, reach for the refreshing combo of yerba maté and veggie sticks. Yerba maté, a naturally caffeinated drink from South America, delivers a clean, steady boost—without the jitters of traditional energy drinks. It’s even linked to better digestion and weight management. Pair it with lightly salted veggie sticks for a fiber-packed snack that helps keep hunger at bay, so you can stay fueled and focused all day (or night).

  1. Celsius and Nuts

For a wholesome energy boost, pair a Celsius energy drink with a handful of nuts for a satisfying, heart-healthy combo! The nuts offer the nourishing benefits of almonds and dark chocolate to keep you full, while the sparkling fruity flavors of Celsius add a refreshing twist. Together, they make the perfect go-to snack for staying energized and focused, even on the busiest days.

  1. Coca Cola and Chocolate

Coca-Cola and chocolate make a surprisingly delicious duo because they balance each other's flavors beautifully! The rich, creamy texture of chocolate complements the crisp, light feel of Coke, while the soda’s slight acidity cuts through the chocolate's sweetness. So yum!

If you try any of these combos, be sure to text us on Instagram @onthehunt_blog

We also have a new feature on our site, where you can request blogs for us to write! So feel free to message us with any other combo’s you love, we never want to miss a pairing 🙂

Until next time,

Xoxo, Katrina and Kat
